Grand Lake is a mecca for hikers of all ages and skill levels. From the scenic stroll up to majestic Adams Falls on the East Inlet Trail to the 350 miles of trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. Information below about three great hikes that set out right from around the town of Grand Lake.
 
 
North Inlet Trail  - Great for Leaf Peeping:
This 18.8-miler follows the North Inlet through aspen groves and spruce stands. Tracing the western edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, this route features moose and elk viewing, the meandering North Inlet, ragged cliffs, pummeling cascades, and massive views of the Continental Divide.

East Inlet Trail  - Adams Falls:
The East Inlet Trail provides access to Adams Falls, one of the park’s prettiest waterfalls and one of the easiest and most popular hikes near Grand Lake. Past the falls there are miles of trail featuring breathtaking mountain and valley vistas. The East Inlet Trailhead can be found at the end of the West Portal Road on the east end of Grand Lake.

Shadow Mountain Lookout:
 
This hike to the Shadow Mountain Lookout begins from the Grand Lake East Shore Trailhead. After hiking 4.8 miles, and an elevation of 9923 feet, hikers will finally reach the Shadow Mountain Lookout. From the lookout hikers will enjoy outstanding panoramic views of Shadow Mountain Lake, Grand Lake, the Never Summer Mountains, as well as the towering mountains along the Continental Divide
